Roop’s POV
The morning sun filtered through the windows of Kalpavriksha Women’s Hostel as Roop stirred awake, clutching her sketchbook for comfort. Today was the day of her first city-wide exhibition—a student showcase at St. Xavier’s College of Fine Arts. Her nerves fluttered with anticipation, but also a strange unease she couldn’t quite place. Among the pieces she was displaying, there was one painting she hadn’t intended to bring into public light: a haunting depiction of a courtyard, sunlight glinting off a fountain, and two indistinct figures running and hiding.
